Referee Performance
Coaches, please fill out the Referee Performance Form to let Marshall Austin know how the referees are doing and what they need to work on. It is also important to let the referees know when they are doing a great job. Once you have completed the form, you can either save it and email it to Marshall at maustin@hartlandsoccer.org or you can drop a hard copy off at the box near the referee sheds.
Referees
Referee Game Draw
On March 26th the game draw meeting will be conducted at HESSC (old high school) in room 12. Please bring your 2010 referee ID card and/or badge with you. You need to be a certified referee! If you are not certified please let us know so we can take you off the referee list. If you wish to referee and can not make it, send someone to bid for you. Please bring your calendars and sports schedules with you so you will know the games you will not be able to referee. This will hopefully help reduce conflicts.
Travel Game Draw
These games are appropriate for experienced referees. You must be at least 2 years older then the age group playing on the field to referee at the center position.
In-House Game Draw
These games are for newly certified and experienced referees. Experienced youth certified referees would be given priority for the game centers throughout the season. The center referee should be at least 2 years older than the age group playing on the field.
General Comments
Please make sure you are available on the dates you bid for. Also, consider your ability to handle increasing responsibility as you advance in an age bracket. Your participation and enjoyment depend upon your ability to handle coaches, players and parents. We have a referee performance form for coaches to fill out on the hartlandsoccer.org website. Remember, if you miss more than 2 games of your assigned or replacement games you may be replaced for rest of the season.
Referee Shirts
Referee shirts will be available at the game draw and at the community education office for $15.00 each. Shirts are available in the colors of black, yellow, blue and red. Sizes are limited.
Referee Flags
Referees will have to purchase their own flags. There are some flags at the Farms & Main sheds.
Pay Scale:
The referee pay scale is available here.

Risk Management
All referees over the age of 18 are required to obtain a Risk Management card and have it with them at all times during any MSYSA related activity. Risk Management is extremely important to help protect our youth players. If you are a new referee over the age of 18, you must have a Risk Management card or you will not be permitted to take the referee test. To get your Risk Management card or to re-certify, please visit the MSYSA website. You can do everything online.
